Taquan Woodley, the 6-foot-8, 235-pound forward from Camden (N.J.) High School and the NY Rens AAU program, committed to South Carolina on Wednesday.
The former Penn State commit also listed St. John’s, St. Joe’s, Temple and Georgia. He decommitted from Penn State after Pat Chambers stepped down as coach.
“Taquan is an old school forward with new-school feel for the game,” NY Rens coach Andy Borman said. “He combines a toughness with a high basketball IQ. He is a terrific rebounder and rim protector with advanced ball skills and passing ability. He will be an immediate impact player in the front court as a freshman.”
