Devin Dinkins, the 5-foot-10, 155-pound point guard from Gonzaga (DC) College High School, says Georgetown, Virginia, and Tulsa are the three schools working the hardest for his recruitment.
He broke down each school for ZAGSBLOG Tuesday.
Georgetown: “The coaching staff tells me I should stay home and if I went there my family could see all my home games. They believe I can be an impact player early in my career and the program has great history.”
Virginia: “They have been recruiting me since my freshman year and it’s the only school I’ve taken a visit to right before COVID happened. I’ve built a great relationship with the entire coaching staff and they like my ability to score as a point guard and make plays for others.”
Tulsa: “I have been talking to them consistently and I have watched there program a lot lately. They are building a winning culture and they want me to come visit.”
Dinkins also holds offers from Virginia Tech, DePaul, La Salle, Penn State and Bryant.
He is also receiving new interest from Providence and Xavier.
Ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 40 point guard in the Class of 2022, Dinkins says he does not have a timetable for his commitment.
“The strength of my game is my ability to shoot,” he said. “Also, being dynamic, using ball screens and on-ball defense. I could improve on being a more vocal leader.”
