The No. 24-ranked Oklahoma Sooners took down No. 9 Alabama in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge by a final score of 66-61 on Saturday.
In doing so, the Sooners became the first team since 1974 with four regular season wins over Top-10 opponents in the same month (via ESPN). In January, the Sooners beat Kansas twice, Texas and Alabama.
Oklahoma is just the third team ever to beat four Top-10 teams in a month. It also marked just the second time in the last 25 years that a team beat three straight Top-10 opponents. Lon Kruger’s club recently took down Kansas and Texas.
De’Vion Harmon scored 18 points to lift his team to a win without Austin Reaves, the Sooners’ leading scorer, and Alondes Williams due to COVID-19 protocol. Elijah Harkless scored 14 points while Brady Manek added 12 as Oklahoma snapped a nine-game winning streak for Alabama.
Oklahoma has now won five straight and turns around to play No. 10 Texas Tech on Monday. The Sooners dropped the first matchup at home back on Dec. 22.
