Dariq Whitehead, the 6-foot-5 wing from Montverde Academy (FL), updated his recruitment with Pro Insight in January.
Whitehead has over twenty schools recruiting him but Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, and Memphis are pursuing him the most.
If the NBA’s one-and-done rule is eliminated, Whitehead will keep that in mind when it comes down to a decision.
“I feel like you’ve got to be mentally and physically prepared for [the NBA],” Whitehead told ZAGSBLOG in June.
“The pros, you’re playing with grown men. I feel like if you need that year of college, I don’t see why not just take that year of college? Get more prepared so that when you get there, you’re not struggling as much. So I’m definitely keeping my options open.”
He is averaging 9.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.1 steals as Montverde continues to dominate with a record of 20-1.
