Kansas junior forward David McCormack and sophomore forward Tristan Enaruna have been put into COVID-19 protocols “semi-recently” and will be unavailable for the Big 12 tournament, head coach Bill Self said during a media availability Tuesday.

“We will anticipate having them next weekend, but not this weekend,” Self said. “It’s just unfortunate. Guys have done a good job till date, and certainly I don’t hold anyone responsible for getting something that is easily spreadable.”

    McCormack and Enaruna are roommates.

This season, McCormack is averaging 13.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.7 steals per game in 27 games played.

Enaruna is averaging 2.8 points, 1.6 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.2 blocks and 0.4 steals per game in 25 games played.

Self said he doesn’t know how McCormack’s absence will affect the starting lineup.

“I don’t know yet, I got an idea, but I’ll hold on to that right now until I know a little bit more about how the teams that we could potentially play start and go about things on Wednesday.”

Kansas went 19-8 overall and 12-6 in the Big 12 during the regular season.

Kansas will play its first game of the Big 12 Tournament on Thursady against the winner of No. 7 seed Oklahoma versus No. 10 seed Iowa State.
