Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim will now coach his sons Buddy and Jimmy on the East Coast All-Stars team that will head to Spain next week after Memphis assistant Larry Brown was removed with what was called a “contact tracing issue.”

Brown, 80, was originally set to coach the Boeheims on the Red team, but won’t make the trip. He was among many coaches at Peach Jam, where a number of coaches and players either tested positive at the event or afterward.

Columbia’s Jim Engles will coach the White Team and South Carolina’s Frank Martin the Blue team.

Jim Boeheim will now get a head start on coaching his sons together ahead of the 2021-22 college season.

Buddy Boeheim recently said he was looking forward to playing with his brother Jimmy, who transferred to Syracuse from Cornell after not being able to play last season due to the Ivy League shutdown.

“I can’t wait, should be a great trip,” Buddy Boeheim said.

“Just having [Jimmy] in workouts, living with him in our apartment on campus has been just a dream come true for both of us. He’s so excited and I know this means as much to him as it means to me. It’s our lives so it’s great having him here.”

The teams, which also feature players from Duke, Kansas, Rutgers, Colorado, Iowa and several Ivy League schools, will gather for training camp this weekend at Manhattan College.
