Elijah Saunders is headed to San Diego State.

The 6-foot-8 Class of 2022 power forward from Phoenix (AZ) Sunnyslope chose the school Friday over Miami, Notre Dame, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech.

“Coach [Brian] Dutcher was the separating factor for me,” he told 247Sports.com. “What he told me and his belief in me stood out between all of the other schools.”

He visited the school last month.

“He’s a big time shooter who can really stretch the floor with the 3-ball,” said Compton Magic director Etop Udo-Ema. “He’s an underappreciated athlete with bounce. Has a chance to play at the next level.”
