Class of 2023 point guard Jeremy Fears commits to Michigan State
By ADAM ZAGORIAJeremy Fears, the 6-foot-1 point guard from La Lumiere (IN) and Brad Beal Elite, is headed to Michigan State.
Ranked the No. 5 point guard in 2023 by 247Sports.com, Fears pledged to the Spartans over Illinois and Michigan on Thursday at his high school on ESPNU.
“I’ll commit to Michigan State, Go Spartans,” he said on ESPNU.
“Michigan State has always been a dream school, Coach [Tom] Izzo has always been one of my favorite coaches and he just said that I’ll be able to come in, play and he just likes my type of game. It fits Michigan State. I’m a competitor, defender, I just fit the style of play.”
Fears is the first 2023 commit for Michigan State.
“I’ll bring defense, competitiveness, just always going hard every day, leadership and just my winning mentality,” he said on ESPNU.
