TCU point guard Mike Miles, a Horned Frog fan favorite and legend, has declared for the 2023 NBA Draft, per his Twitter page.
Miles finished his career in the top-15 of TCU’s all-time scoring and assist list. Last season, Miles tested the NBA Draft waters and ended up coming back to school. That’s unlikely to happen again.
This past season during his junior campaign, Miles averaged 17.9 points, 2.7 assists and 2.7 rebounds while shooting 49.7% from the field and 36.2% from deep. In back-to-back seasons, Miles has been named to the All-Big 12 Second Team.
“To the entire TCU staff and community, the Flying T Club, and the best student section ever, thank you for embracing a kid from Highland Hills and cheering him on for three years,” Miles said in his announcement. “Much respect.”
In postseason play, Miles has led TCU to the Big 12 Tournament championship game (2022). In both NCAA Tournament appearances, Miles and TCU fell in the second round. Both games were decided by five points or less.
“To my teammates and my brothers, we didn’t go where we wanted to go,” Miles said. “But we did what we thought they couldn’t do.”
