Class of 2024 four-star Jadis Jones is receiving interest and offers for both his basketball and football talents, setting up the possibility of playing both sports at the collegiate level.
While the concept of a student-athlete playing both sports at the DI level is extremely rare, Jones is keeping all doors open, “It’s a possibility that I will play both, but I don’t know yet though,” Jones said in a phone interview.
The 6-foot-5 wing out of New Madrid (MO.) and Bradley Beal Elite currently holds basketball offers from Louisiana-Monroe, Robert Morris, Northwestern State, and the 2023 Ohio Valley Conference Champion Southeast Missouri State (SEMO).
Northwestern State was the last school to offer Jones.
He also holds football offers from SEMO, Coastal Carolina, Murray State, and Northern Iowa.
“I’d probably say SEMO is recruiting me the hardest for basketball,” he said. “And football I’d say Coastal Carolina is recruiting me the hardest.”
Jones broke down the appeal of both schools to ZAGSBLOG:
SEMO: “I like SEMO because it’s close to home,” he said. “When I go there and visit it feels like family. I’ve got a good relationship with the coaches, I’ve known them for a couple years now.”
Coastal Carolina: “It’s a nice campus and everything is how it should be there,” Jones continued. “It’s a good school, the fans and the students and everyone is involved in the sport. It’s real nice how they got things going over there.”
Jones will visit Coastal Carolina sometime in June and has no other visits planned at this time.
