Florida has signed 6-foot-11 forward/center Alex Condon out of Perth, Australia, to its 2023 freshman class, head coach Todd Golden announced on Wednesday.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Alex into our program here at Florida,” Golden said. “Alex comes from the Centre of Excellence program in Australia, which has a great track record of producing top Australian talent like Andrew Bogut, Joe Ingles, and a few of my former college teammates including Patty Mills. He’s a great athlete and competitor, and will lift the competitive spirit within our program. We are excited to see how he impacts the team moving forward.”
Basketball Australia’s Centre for Excellence, which partners with the NBA Global Academy, also counts Matthew Dellavedova, Dante Exum and Luc Longley among its alumni. Josh Giddey is the NBA Global Academy’s first NBA Draft pick.
Condon joins fellow freshman three-star Thomas Haugh and a trio of transfers already in the fold for 2023-24, including EJ Jarvis, Micah Handlogten and Walter Clayton Jr.
