Wyoming transfer Jeremiah Oden has committed to DePaul, the school announced Tuesday in a release.
The Chicago native, returns to the Windy City with two years of eligibility remaining.
“Jeremiah has shown a lot of growth in his collegiate career,” said head coach Tony Stubblefield. “He has continued to develop his game and improve each season and we look forward to seeing what is next for him here at DePaul. It is always a great moment having a player like Jeremiah chose to come home to the city of Chicago and play in front of their hometown.”
Oden was a critical part of the Cowboys’ 2022 NCAA Tournament run that included a 25-win season, the most for the program since 2015. In his three seasons in Laramie, he appeared in 85 games with 61 starts. He has averaged 7.3 points and 3.7 rebounds as a career 46.5 percent shooter from the floor. A versatile player with length, Oden shot 35.2 percent from three-point range last season. He scored a career-high 28 points in the team’s final regular-season game against Nevada on 9-of-13 shooting.
Prior to his collegiate career, Oden played one season at Sunrise Christian Academy where he helped lead the program to a No. 6 ranking in the final National Prep Coaches Poll. He began his high school career in Chicago at St. Rita High School, leading the team to a 24-9 record as a senior and a Chicago Catholic League title.
Oden’s father John played for DePaul for two seasons from 2000-02.
