N.C. State has landed Clemson transfer Ben Middlebrooks.

The 6-foot-10 Fort Lauderdale, Fla. native averaged 3.1 points and 2.7 rebound as a sophomore for the Tigers this past season. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

“I would say the coaching staff, team, being in the city of Raleigh, joining a program were I feel I can compete at the highest level, and especially being somewhere that is going to help me to improve my game and get to the NBA and are the main reasons I picked N.C. State,” he said.

“As far as skillset I would say I’m bringing a high-energy versatile 4/5 who can guard any position as well as ball screens at an elite level defensively. And offensively I’m able to score in the post against smaller defenders, and take larger defenders on the perimeter or mid-post and hit shots or attack off the dribble.”

He added: “I will show a much larger skillset offensively next year than I have previously at Clemson.”

N.C. State has previously landed Arizona State transfer D.J. Horne and Butler transfer Jayden Taylor.
