St. John’s transfer Posh Alexander is headed to Big East rival Butler, he announced.
Alexander averaged 10.2 points, 4.2 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 2.0 steals as a junior but was not deemed a good fit for Rick Pitino’s culture and system.
Half a dozen St. John’s players transferred, including Dylan Addae-Wusu, Alexander’s former high school teammate at Our Savior Lutheran who committed to Seton Hall on Thursday.
“A lot of players probably won’t be back on this team because they’re probably not a good fit for me,” Pitino said at his introductory press conference. “…It takes a certain type of player to play for me…and if you’re not, it’s just not a good fit, it just doesn’t work.”
Butler also brings in Pierre Brooks (Michigan State), Jahmyl Telfort (Northeastern), Landon Moore (St Francis PA), Andre Screen (Bucknell), DJ Davis (UC Irvine), Augusto Cassiá (NBA Academy) and incoming freshmen Finley Bizjack and Boden Kapke.
