Two class of 2023 centers — four-star Rashaud Marshall and three-star Cameron Barnes — have committed to Chris Beard and Ole Miss. Both players announced their decisions on Instagram.
Marshall, the 6-foot-9, 215-pound center from Blytheville (AR), has now committed to Ole Miss three times. He first committed to former Ole Miss head coach Kermit Davis, but decommitted after his firing. Marshall then re-committed to Ole Miss and Beard in March, but decommitted again in April.
Now, Marshall will officially be a Rebel.
Marshall is ranked as a four-star and the No. 113 player in the nation by 247Sports. Marshall was the highest-rated center available in the 2023 class before committing today.
Ole Miss also landed a commitment on Monday from the No. 169 overall player nationally in Barnes. The 6-foot-10, 210-pound big man from Duncanville (TX), is also one of the top remaining centers in the 2023 class.
Barnes had this to say of his decision, via Joe Tipton of On3:
“I chose Ole Miss because Coach Beard and his staff were very intentional about me while on my visit,” Barnes said. “Beard is one of the best college coaches in the nation and the plan he has in place for me which includes top strength and conditioning coordinator Coach John Reilly, will also be a big part of my player development. I’m excited about our coaching staff, the team and Ole Miss as a whole!”
Marshall and Barnes will join one other prospect — unranked power forward Jacob Gazzo — in Beard’s 2023 recruiting class at Ole Miss.
