Yves Missi, a top-15 prospect formerly in the class of 2024, has reclassified to 2023 and will enroll at Baylor this fall.

“From day one on campus, Yves will be elite finisher at the rim,” PSA Cardinals coach Joe Brown told ZAGSBLOG. “[He’s] excellent at shooting the top of the key 3 ball and showcase a motor that never stops. He will clearly be a high level rebounder and regularly fills the stat sheet with double-doubles. He runs the floor like a deer and talks on defense like a quarterback on the defensive end of the court. Never forget that he handles the ball very well for a young man of his size.”

The 6-foot-10 big man originally committed to Baylor back in January, choosing the Bears over UConn, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, St. John’s, Texas, Syracuse, and UCLA, among others.

The No. 2 prospect in the state of California according to ESPN, Missi participated in the 2023 Nike Hoops Summit, where he played with Little on the World Select Team and played against Walter and Team USA.

Born in Belgium, the 6-foot-10, 215-pound center grew up in Cameroon but comes to the Bears by way of Prolific Prep in California. With Prolific Prep, the five-star prospect helped his team win The Grind Session World Championship, earning a spot in the GEICO High School Nationals tournament. In the quarterfinals against IMG Academy, Missi had six points, four rebounds and a block. In December, he also helped Prolific Prep win the 2022 John Wall Holiday Invitational.

His brother, Steve Moundou-Missi, was a three-time All-Ivy League selection at Harvard, in addition to being the 2015 Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year.

Missi joins five-star Ja’Kobe Walter and four-star Miro Little in Baylor’s class of 2023.

VCU transfer Jayden Nunn will also join the Bears next season.
