Former Georgetown signee and three-star class of 2023 shooting guard Marvel Allen has committed to Dayton. Allen announced the move on his social media.
“Coach [Anthony] Grant is a great coach and coach [James] Kane has a great relationship with my former coaches from Calvary, so there’s a lot of trust,” Allen told ZAGSBLOG.com. “Also we all Florida boys and ready to win an A10 championship and make a run for the big boy!”
The 6-foot-4, 195-pound guard from Montverde Academy (FL), signed with Georgetown back in November. He requested to be released out of his National Letter of Intent last month.
“Due to the coaching change and other events that led to this decision, I have decided to request a release from my NLI to Georgetown University,” Allen said to On3. “I will be opening my recruitment to all schools. Please respect my decision.”
Allen is ranked the No. 135 overall prospect in the class of 2023 by 247Sports. He’s also the No. 12 player ranked out of Florida.
