North Dakota State transfer Grant Nelson, arguably the top remaining transfer in the portal, is expected to make a decision in the next couple of days after visiting SEC schools Alabama (Tuesday) and Arkansas (Thursday), sources said.
The 6-foot-11 native of Devils Lake, N.D. averaged 17.9 points on 52% shooting last season and 9.3 rebounds.
He attended the NBA Draft Combine in Chicago last month and then opted to withdraw from the draft and transfer.
“My plan — I want to stay in the draft,” Nelson told Mike McFeely at the NBA Combine. “That’s my main goal — get drafted this year. But I entered the transfer portal and kept my eligibility just as like, if anything does happen, I do have that to fall back on. But my main goal is to get drafted this year.”
Alabama also remains in the mix for Creighton transfer Arthur Kaluma, who is also considering Kansas State and Kentucky.
