The NBA sent out two batches of NBA Draft Green Room Invites on Tuesday featuring 19 of the most coveted prospects in this month’s draft.
The first batch featured 10 players, all of whom fall in the top-10 of ESPN’s latest big board: Victor Wembanyama (Metro 92), Scoot Henderson (G-League Ignite), Brandon Miller (Alabama), Amen Thompson (OTE), Ausar Thompson (OTE), Cam Whitmore (Villanova), Jarace Walker (Houston), Taylor Hendricks (UCF), and Gradey Dick (Kansas).
Wembanyama is the surefire No.1 pick in this year’s draft and likely to be selected by the San Antonio Spurs next Thursday. Henderson and Miller will presumably follow but who goes before the other is still up in the air.
The second batch included several potential lottery selections, as well as prospects who may sneak into the top-10 next week: Bilal Coulibaly (Metro 92), Cason Wallace (Kentucky), Nick Smith (Arkansas), Dereck Lively (Duke), Kobe Bufkin (Michigan), Jalen Hood-Schifino (Indiana), Jett Howard (Michigan), Jordan Hawkins (UConn), Keyonte George (Baylor).
Coulibaly is one of the quickest risers in this year’s class and many say he could easily get into the top-10 on draft night. Hawkins, a national champion with UConn, is arguably the best shooter in this class and his 21-of-42 three point shooting in the NCAA Tournament has earned him a lottery selection as well.
The NBA Draft will be held on June 22nd on ABC and ESPN networks.
