West Virginia transfer Mohamed Wague has committed to Alabama following a visit this week.

“I’m choosing Alabama because I feel like I got better opportunities out there,” the 6-foot-10 Bronx native told ZAGSBLOG.

He averaged 4.1 points and 3.1 rebounds last season for West Virginia, but opted to transfer after Bob Huggins retired following a DUI arrest in Pittsburgh last month. He was replaced on an interim basis by Josh Eilert.

West Virginia also saw guard Joe Toussaint transfer to Texas Tech, while Jose Perez also announced Wednesday he will transfer as well.

Perez, who previously played two seasons at at Gardner-Webb and one at Marquette, transferred out of Manhattan last fall after Steve Masiello was fired two weeks before the start of the season, but was denied an NCAA waiver to play this past season.

Now another of Perez’s coach has been replaced and he’s on the move again.
