Jack Bailey, the 6-foot-10 forward out of Blair Academy (NJ.), has seen several high major schools come after him recently.
The Riverside Hawks AAU product visited Boston College and St. John’s last month and holds offers from both schools along with Iowa, Oklahoma State, Georgie Tech, Rhode Island, St. Bonaventure, and Iona, among others.
He also mentioned that Notre Dame and Providence have also been involved.
Bailey broke down some of his options to ZAGSBLOG:
Boston College: “I loved it,” he said. “I love hearing from coach [Earl] Grant and his coaching staff. I really feel his philosophy and his team’s culture. Coach Grant is definitely building something special and I’m excited to get back there.”
St John’s: “I met with the whole coaching staff,” he said. It was just cool to see coach [Rick] Pitino in action. He brought a ton of intensity to the practice and you could really feel the energy in the gym.”
“I’d definitely consider it,” he continued. Obviously coach Pitino is a legendary coach and I’d be honored to play from him.”
Notre Dame: “I’ve been in contact recently,” Bailey said. “I’ve been watching them for a while, I think I’d really fit into their system.”
Providence: “They talked a lot about my ability to push the ball as a forward and really stretch the floor,” he said. “Again, I think I’d fit into their system well.”
In terms of what he’s looking for in a school, Bailey is looking for a program similar to Blair Academy and legendary high school coach Joe Mantegna.
“Anything similar to Blair,” he said. “I’m really lucky to play for coach Mantegna and his philosophy of mental toughness, togetherness, and most importantly selflessness. It’s really an amazing culture to be apart of and it’s definitely something I want at the next level.”
Bailey has no current visits planned but will look to take some in August and later in the fall.
