Class of 2024 five-star center Aiden Sherrell has committed to Alabama, giving Nate Oats his first commit in the class of 2024.
Sherrell — the 6-foot-10, 215-pound center from Prolific Prep (CA) and the Vegas Elite AAU program — chose Alabama over his other finalists Michigan State, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas.
“I chose Alabama because I fit their playstyle perfectly, and I believe that they will help get me to the next level and develop me into the player I want to be,” Sherrell said to On3. “It is a family environment and they have a great coaching staff.”
With Sherrell’s commitment, Oats has now landed five five-star prospects since he arrived at Alabama in March of 2019 (Brandon Miller, Jaden Bradley, JD Davidson, Josh Primo). Sherrell is also the highest-ranked big man Alabama has landed in program history, per Joe Tipton.
Sherrell is ranked the No. 22 player in the nation per 247Sports and the No. 4 overall center. The big man is known for his fluidity for his size.
“Aiden Sherrell has an extremely unique blend of upside and production,” Prolific Prep coach Ryan Bernardi told ZAGSBLOG.com. “He has size and skill and the ability to impact the game at a high level.”
