Boogie Fland, the five-star point guard from Archbishop Stepinac (N.Y.) and the PSA Cardinals, is poised to announce his college choice on Friday at 2 p.m. at his school.
Ranked No. 18 in the Class of 2024 by ESPN, he is down to Kentucky, Indiana and Alabama.
Fland recently broke down each school for 247:
Kentucky: “That relationship has been going well. They’re trying to get me, so I hope it’s all good. Their pitch is that they want me to come to their school, play with the guys and help them win. I felt what they were saying and felt like they were being real.”
Indiana: “Coach [Mike] Woodson has a staff that has a similar background to his. They didn’t play but they touched NBA waters. Everyone on that staff has a sense of NBA knowledge and that could help in the long run. Also, basketball is very big in Indiana and they’re not playing around. They’re coming to win and do the job.”
Alabama: “It was definitely a good visit and they left a very good impression. Football is big there but basketball is coming up and has shown huge improvement. With them, they want me to come in, have the ball in my hands and do what I do. They would have talent around me and we would be able to play freely and fast like last year.”
