Cooper Flagg, the No. 1 high school basketball prospect in the Class of 2024, has ended his recruitment the way pretty much everyone expected it would: by committing to Duke.
He made the announcement Monday morning on Slam.
The 6-foot-8 Flagg, a native of Newport, Maine, was supposed to announce last Thursday as we reported here but delayed his decision due to the mass shooting in Maine that killed 18 people.
“He’s just getting better and better, he’s very versatile,” Montverde (FL) Academy coach Kevin Boyle, who has coached three former No. 1 picks in Kyrie Irving, Ben Simmons and Cade Cunningham, said by phone.
