Caleb Wilson, the 6-foot-10 five-star Class of 2025 jumbo wing from Holy Innocents Episcopal School in Atlanta, took his latest visit to Auburn this past weekend.
“I must say Auburn did a great job of understanding that we have been traveling all summer and into the fall,” Jerry Wilson, Caleb’s father, told ZAGSBLOG.
“They made the weekend feel like we were really at home. Absolutely no pressure, just a great intimate view inside the Jungle and Auburn basketball. The legend of Bruce Pearl is real, so to sit down with him and get an understanding of how he turns his knowledge of the game, along with his intense madness, into high-level success was motivating.
“BP coaches hard and holds his players accountable in a brutally honest fashion. Then, he gives them the freedom to be their best. We walked in thinking this may not be mutually beneficial, but the location and recent success of BP with players similar to Caleb peeked my interest. I’m glad I followed the numbers because we left thinking, it could happen at Auburn. We’re going back for a visit when the Jungle is active during a game to see it live, I can’t wait.”
Next up, Caleb Wilson will take an unofficial visit to Georgia Tech this coming weekend.
“I spoke with Damon Stoudamire last night, and we’re going to hang out this weekend to get a feel for their plan for Caleb,” Jerry said. “He previewed some inviting points at Georgia Tech.”
Wilson will visit North Carolina (Nov. 11). He also already visited Alabama, Tennessee, Stanford and Kentucky and plans to visit Duke
“I want to be very thorough in the decision-making process,” Jerry said. Follow Adam Zagoria on Twitter
