Adrien Stevens, a three-star recruit in the class of 2025, has concluded visits until the end of his high school season, he told ZAGSBLOG Thursday.
“The long term plan is to take some visits in the spring or summer,” he said.
The 6-foot-4 combo guard has led the Bullis School (MD.) to a 9-0 start this year, including a win over IMG Academy (FL.) last week.
“I feel like all you can really ask for is the opportunities,” Stevens said. “The people who believe in me have really uplifted me. Having these opportunities is just amazing.”
He has seen Maryland, Virginia, Marquette, and Virginia Tech since last summer, while Mississippi State, Stanford and Villanova, among others, have recently entered the mix.
Stevens broke down his some of his options to ZAGSBLOG:
Maryland: “It’s going good. They come out to a lot of the games and it’s just good that they’re showing interest.”
Notre Dame (Dec. 13 offer): “I had been talking to them over the summer but the head coach [Micah Shrewsberry] was at the IMG and that was the first time he got to see me play. That week, he called me and offerred.”
“He was just pointing out the stuff that he really appreciated about my game and how it could translate to college and how it could benefit Notre Dame and how I could benefit from Notre Dame.”
Virginia (Oct. 20 visit): “I really appreciated my time there, especially the time I get to spend one-on-one with Coach [Tony] Bennett. That was really special to me, and showed the genuine interest in me.”
“It was a really cool experience overall, beautiful campus and just great people there.”
Marquette (Oct. 7 visit): “It was great. I liked it a lot. Marquette, I talk to a lot. Coach [Shaka] Smart and I talk pretty much every day.”
Villanova: “The relationship is building, I love coach [Kyle] Neptune and what he’s doing he has a promising team and I’m confident he can put the pieces together. I love the assistant coaches and I’m just really appreciative of the opportunity”
Virginia Tech (August visit): “I loved it. I really like the coaching staff. I appreciate the effort they put in. I really like Mike Young and his coaching style. It was a great experience.”
