Syracuse has dismissed forward Benny Williams from the team, the Orange confirmed Tuesday.
The exact reason is unknown at this time. The statement announcing the decision said “everyone involved with the program wishes Benny the best.”
Williams, a 6-foot-9 forward and former top-50 recruit in the class of 2021, was averaging 5.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game this season.
Williams was suspended two games earlier this season for a violation of team rules. The decision to dismiss Williams stirred motion among current Syracuse players, who took to social media to voice their displeasure.I don’t know if this is what did it for Benny Williams, but it certainly may have been.
