Derek Dixon, a four-star out of Gonzaga HS (D.C.) in the class of 2025, has scheduled April visits to Pittsburgh and Virginia, he confirmed to ZAGSBLOG Monday.
He will visit Pitt starting April 12th and Virginia starting April 19th.
Dixon is a 6-foot-5 combo guard whose best basketball is in the mid-range game. He’s very effective pulling up off the bounce or knocking down a catch-and-shoot three. Dixon continuously showed up in the clutch for Gonzaga and often opens passing lanes with his movement and creativity.
He broke down both schools to ZAGSBLOG at January’s HoopHall:
Virginia: “I took an unofficial visit there in the fall and got to see a football game. I got to talk to Coach [Tony] Bennett which is awesome to have a guy with that magnitude recruiting me.”
Pitt: “That’s a great relationship. Coach [Jeff] Capel and Coach [Milan] Brown really see me fitting in at that program. I got to see their game against Duke which was a great experience.”
