Former Mercer standout Jake Davis has committed to Illinois, he announced Monday.
The 6-foot-6 freshman wing averaged 9 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists last season with the Bears. He shot 41.9% from the field and 38.7% from deep.
Davis is a scoring threat who can explode for 20-plus points nightly. He posted a career-high 26 on 10-of-13 shooting against Georgia State in December.
He is the first transfer to commit to Illinois this cycle. The Illini are also adding class of 2024 four-star Morez Johnson and three-stars Jase Butler and Jason Jakstys.
