On Sunday night, John Calipari shocked the college basketball world by accepting the head coaching position at the University of Arkansas, leaving the University of Kentucky after 15 seasons. In Calipari’s time at Kentucky, the Wildcats have gone to four Final Fours and won a national title in 2012.

It was reported on Monday morning by Kentucky Sports Radio that Kentucky players were meeting Calipari at his house for a team meeting. However, about an hour later, the meeting was reportedly canceled.

Calipari was spotted walking his dog near his home in Lexington later on and wouldn’t talk to reporters.

Several players in the 2024 class are signed to Kentucky in five-star center Jayden Quaintance, five-star guard Boogie Fland, four-star center Somto Cyril and four-star point guard Travis Perry. Five-star small forward Billy Richmond is also committed to the Wildcats. Kentucky has already lost five-star small forward Karter Knox, per ESPN’s Jeff Borzello.

It’ll be interesting to see who Kentucky holds on to and who Calipari lures away to the Razorbacks.
