Former BYU big man Aly Khalifa has committed to Louisville, his agent Daniel Poneman confirmed to ZAGSBLOG Thursday.
The 6-foot-11 Egyptian chose the Cardinals over former head coach Mark Pope at Kentucky and a return to BYU. He will redshirt this upcoming season to heal a knee injury.
Khalifa averaged 5.7 points, 4 assists and 3.7 rebounds last season with the Cougars. He’s an incredibly skilled forward who often stretched the floor in Pope’s offense, or facilitated from the top of the key.
He is the fifth transfer to join the Cardinals since Pat Kelsey and staff took over last month. Khalifa joins former JMU standout Terrence Edwards, J’Vonne Hadley (Colorado), James Scott (Charleston) and Reyne Smith (Charleston).
