Five-star shooting guard Joson Sanon flipped from Arizona to Arizona State on Thursday, giving the Sun Devils the No. 4 recruiting class in 2024 per 247Sports.com and capping a big day for the Hurley Brothers.
The 6-foot-5 Vermont Academy guard initially committed to Arizona in March over Kentucky, Boston College, Overtime Elite, Kansas, and UConn, but in the wake of Caleb Love opting to return to Arizona for a fifth season of college, Sanon will now take his talents to play for Sun Devils head coach Bobby Hurley. He will enroll this summer after reclassifying to 2024 from 2025, sources said.
The Sun Devils have also added five-star big man Jayden Quaintance, four star wing Amier Ali, four-star forward Sammie Yeanay and three-star shooting guard Bo Aldridge along with several transfers, including former USC transfer forward Brandon Gardner, Milwaukee guard BJ Freeman, Ole Miss transfer guard Austin Nunez, Missouri State transfer guard Alston Mason and Ball State transfer forward Basheer Jihad.
The Sanon news came on the same day that Alex Karaban withdrew from the NBA Draft and opted to return to UConn, giving Dan Hurley and the two-time defending champion Huskies a veteran presence as it pursues a three-peat.
