The Kuminga name will continue at The Patrick School in New Jersey.
Alex and Fiory Kuminga, the younger brothers of Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga, are enrolled at the school in Hillside, N.J. where Jonathan spent one season and are currently playing summer league with the team, head coach Chris Chavannes told ZAGSBLOG. They will make their debut in Friday’s summer league game at Hamilton Park in Jersey City at 4 p.m.
“Jon Kuminga’s younger brothers, Fiory and Alex, have joined The Patrick School for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year,” Chavannes said. “Fiory, a 6-foot-6 rising 9th grader, already possesses varsity-level strength and a knack for attacking the rim. With his potential, he is expected to make an impact as a freshman next.
“Meanwhile, Alex, a 6-8 rising junior, has transferred from Archbishop Riordan High School in California and brings strong shooting and ball-handling to the team. Despite facing eligibility issues because he transferred this past year, Alex is ready to contribute next season. After watching the siblings practice together for the first time [Tuesday], it is clear that they both have scoring abilities and an unselfish nature on the court.”
Jonathan Kuminga is the second of four brothers. All are very skilled.
The 6-7 Kuminga averaged 16.1 points and 4.8 rebounds this past season with the Warriors. He was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft after spending one season with G League Elite after his one year at The Patrick School.
