Bill Self and the Kansas Jayhawks have another grab in the transfer portal, as former Mississippi State guard Shakeel Moore announced his commitment to the Jayhawks via Instagram on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-1, 190-pound guard from Greensboro (NC) averaged 7.9 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game for Mississippi State last season. He played 23.5 minutes per game with 22 starts. Last season was his fourth year in college, so Moore will be utilizing his final year of eligibility at Kansas. Moore started his career at NC State.

Moore is known for his defensive prowess, appearing on the 2022-23 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watch List (top-15). Over his four year career, he’s poured in over 1,000 points and made 68 total starts. Self has been busy in the transfer portal, bringing in Moore, former Wisconsin star AJ Storr, former Alabama wing Rylan Griffen and former South Dakota State guard Zeke Mayo.
