KANSAS CITY — When four-star point guard Jordan Lowery switched teams this summer on the Nike EYBL circuit from Team Thad to Houston Hoops, he was joining a Houston program with a 2-4 record. But after Lowery made the move, Houston Hoops rallied off seven-straight wins to turn its season around.

“I just bring winning to the table,” Lowery told ZAGSBLOG. “That’s what programs want to do is win. I feel like I help that and have showed that.”

Without this electric 7-0 run, Houston Hoops would likely be on the outside of the Peach Jam field looking in. The play of Lowery has been a huge catalyst in Houston Hoops’ success.

At Session 4 in Kansas City, the winning streak for Houston was finally broken, but the program still finished with a 3-2 record. Lowery averaged 11.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game during the session while shooting 48.6% from the field.

“I’m a true point guard,” Lowery said of his game. “I feel like not a lot of those still exist. There’s a lot of scoring guards. I bring winning to the team. I bring leadership. I just rally my guys together and bring wins.”

Lowery updated his recruitment while in Kansas City and said Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Louisville, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and Charleston have been recruiting him hardest as of late.

The guard hasn’t taken any official visits and will plan on taking those after Peach Jam. He would like to see Ohio State, Oklahoma and Iowa. Lowery has already taken unnofficial visits to Virginia Tech, SMU, Arkansas and West Virginia.

With that, here’s a breakdown of some of the schools most in contact with Lowery:

Ohio State: “They let their guards go. They are in the Big 10 conference which is pretty good. I talk to Joel Justus. He’s been on me since NC State so me and him have a real close bond. He checks in with me every other day and stuff like that.”

Virginia Tech: “They let their guards go. The atmosphere was wonderful. I was there when they played Virginia. A lot of schools that are following me let their guards go and that’s what I like the most. The culture is nice. I really like the staff there. They are really big on family and culture.”

Oklahoma State: “My guy coach Mike [Ekanem] over there came from George Mason. I really rock with him. He checks in on me all the time, has been building the relationship. So it’s been good.”

Louisville: “They been losing, but I think they are going to turn it around this year with the new staff they got. My guy Ronnie Hamilton over there recruiting me and stuff like that. So I think they’ll have a good year this year.”

Oklahoma: “I lived in Texas for a while so it’s close to home. I just like the atmosphere there. The campus is really nice. Porter Moser, he lets his guards go. They had a real good year last year. So I’m just trying to see how they are.”

Charleston: “They are new in the picture. My guy coach Tre [Campbell], he’s been recruiting me and stuff, just telling me to keep going, motivating me and stuff like that. They want me to come in and impact winning.”

Lowery said the college coach he’s formed the closest bond with is Justus of Ohio State. He also said that Oklahoma, as well as the Buckeyes, have been recruiting him for the longest period of time.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound guard from Guyer (TX), is ranked the No. 207 player in the class of 2025 by 247Sports, giving him three-star status. Lowery is ranked a four-star by ESPN.

Lowery’s favorite NBA player is Steph Curry, and if he wasn’t playing hoops, Lowery said he’d be a football star.
