Darius Acuff, the No. 1 point guard in the class of 2025, is down to Arkansas and Kansas and will announce Friday at 5 p.m. ET via 247Sports, his mentor told ZAGSBLOG.
The 6-foot-3 IMG Academy product officially visited Arkansas back in May and Kansas in April.
He also visited hometown school Michigan back in the fall.
Several national recruiting experts have put in picks for Arkansas, and that is also the ZAGSBLOG prediction.
“It was a great visit,” Acuff told ZAGSBLOG of Arkansas where his primary recruiters are head coach John Calipari and assistant Chin Coleman. “It’s the same situation as Kentucky, just it’s a different school. I love Coach Cal.”
He visited Kentucky last fall when Calipari was still the coach and called it a “family environment.”
Acuff also recently took an official visit to Kansas where head coach Bill Self and assistant Kurtis Townsend are his primary recruiters.
“It was good,” he said. “It was a great family environment. It is a great school.”
Acuff was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the FIBA U18 AmeriCup 2024 after leading the United States to another gold medal in June.
The 17-year-old was instrumental in guiding his country in their 110-70 win over host country Argentina, finishing with 26 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals (37 efficiency) in the final played at Estadio Obras Sanitarias in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
