NC State and Kevin Keatts have picked up a commitment from four-star shooting guard Bryce Heard. The 6-foot-5, 185-pound guard from Homewood-Flossmoor (IL) and the Mac Irvin Fire Nike EYBL AAU program will reclassify to 2024 and join the Wolfpack next season, he confirmed to ZAGSBLOG.

“NC state was the right fit for me and my family,” Heard said. “The coaches have been recruiting me since sophomore year and been honest with me about my plan to get to the next level.

“I will bring a two-way skillset to NC State. I can score it and play defense at a high level.”

Heard visited NC State in late June. He will join two other freshman — four-star wing Paul McNeil and four star guard Trey Parker — at NC State next season. Heard was previously ranked the No. 87 overall prospect in the class of 2025.

Heard averaged 14.3 points per game across nine EYBL contests this summer. His best game was a 29-point outing against The Family, where he made 5-of-10 3-pointers. He is a dynamic scorer.
