Class of 2025 three-star point guard Jack Smiley has committed to Belmont, he announced on X.com.

Smiley — the 6-foot-2, 165-pound guard from La Lumiere (IN) and the Indy Heat Nike EYBL AAU program — becomes Belmont’s first 2025 commit.

“Belmont is a great fit for me and my game,” Smiley told ZAGSBLOG. “I have an opportunity to play and contribute right away in a system that is known for winning. The coaches are awesome and have been showing me love and support for a long time. Nashville is also a great city and place to live.”

Smiley performed well during the summer AAU season with Indy Heat. At the Kansas City session, Smiley had two games of 25+ points against Team Melo and the NJ Scholars. At Peach Jam, the point guard contributed 8.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 24.6 minutes per game.

“I would say I’m a good all-around player,” Smiley previously told ZAGSBLOG. “I feel like I can shoot the ball, handle the ball, defend. I’m going to compete at every level and just do anything to help my team win.”

Smiley isn’t the only athlete in his family. Both his parents played sports at the Division II level at the University of Tampa. Mom played softball and dad played soccer.
