Class of 2025 four-star forward Dallas Washington has committed to Long Beach State, he told ZAGSBLOG on Monday.
Washington — the 6-foot-8, 200-pound forward from Santa Margarita Catholic (CA) and the Arizona Unity Nike EYBL AAU — will be staying home. LBSU is about an hour away from his current high school.
“I get along super well with the whole coaching staff and have a great relationship with them,” Washington said of his decision. “I really like what they have going on at Long Beach and while I was there on my official visit it really felt like home and somewhere I can go and have a lot of success on and off the court right away!” Washington is known as more of a stretch power forward. His best game of Peach Jam this summer came vs. tournament champions Nightrydas Elite. Washington scored nine points and grabbed four rebounds in just 13 minutes. “I’m just an all-around player,” Washington previously said of his game. “I’m really focused on playing a lot of defense and getting my game started on the defensive end. I can play inside, play in the post, get to the basket and shoot the ball.” Washington isn’t the only athlete in the family. His father, Nelson Washington, was a walk-on basketball player at San Jose State. His mother, Heather Washington, played volleyball for the Spartans. Washington also has two sisters. One is at Fordham University majoring in dance and the other is a professional dancer for the Dance Theatre of Harlem. Washington is ranked the No. 99 overall prospect in the 2025 class by 247Sports. His favorite NBA player is Kevin Durant.
