BRANSON, MO — Class of 2025 four-star guard Amare Bynum is one of the most versatile forwards in the 2025 class, and a host of schools are after his services.
So far Bynum — the 6-foot-8, 210-pound forward from Link Academy and the Mokan Elite Nike EYBL AAU Program — has taken official visits to several schools. He’s seen Nebraska (Sept. 7), Iowa (Sept. 14), Colorado (Sept. 21) and Ohio State (Oct. 4-6), and has an upcoming visit to Xavier (Oct. 11-13).
Bynum told ZAGSBLOG at Link Academy he’s also setting up visits with Louisville and Oregon. He broke down all of these programs to ZAGSBLOG:
Nebraska: “I like Nebraska. They took me to the football locker room. It was pretty fun seeing that. And then just Fred [Hoiberg] and Nate [Loenser], those are great guys. The NBA playstyle [sticks out]. He’s been in the league. Him and Nate were in the league together, and that was real good.”
Iowa: “It was good. Me and Fran [McCaffery] talked a lot about Kris Murray, the Murray brothers and how I’m like them. Just real good with my versatility. That’s what we talk about a lot.”
Colorado: “They talk about me being really versatile, playing and being an impactful player and being everywhere on the court. [Tad Boyle] told me a lot about Cody [Williams], Tristan da Silva. They came in not ready, but he made them a lot better. That’s what they say, the development is really good there. They got sent to the league, so yeah.”
Ohio State: “I really like [Jake Diebler]. He’s real cool. He talks to me all the time, calls me, FaceTime’s me. He’s really excited to see me this weekend so yeah.” Bynum has not recapped his official visit to ZAGSBLOG yet.
Xavier: “Sean Miller, I talk to him everyday. He texts me a lot. We just talk about the playstyle and my versatility a lot.”
On Xavier commit Jayden Forsythe: “We’ve been talking a little bit. Just commenting on each other’s stuff. It’s been cool. I never talked to him before [in person], but I’ve been talking to him a little bit.”
Louisville: “They just talk about how they like my versatility. They talk about my versatility a lot, just being an impact player.”
On head coach Pat Kelsey: “I haven’t really seen nothing yet, but I think I like their playstyle. They play real fast, real aggressive.”
Oregon: “They just say versatility, getting stronger. They think of me as more of a 3. 4-3, definitely not playing the five. Just shooting. My shooting has gotten way better the last time they seen me. So yeah.”
Bynum said he’ll probably cut down his options after taking the visit to Oregon. As for a decision timeline?
“I might be [signing early], but I don’t know yet,” Bynum said. “I got to see. I still got some visits setting up, so I got to see.”
Like several of his Link Academy teammates, the goal for Bynum and his senior season is to win Chipotle Nationals.
“We’re getting better everyday,” Bynum said. “Most talented team out there. So we’re just trying to get better everyday with that goal, big goal for us.”
Watching Bynum at workouts, he seems to have really improved his jumpshot. It’s something he’s been putting a lot of work into. Expect a big senior season from Bynum.
