OVERLAND PARK, KS — The recruitment for class of 2025 four-star guard Davion Hannah is heating up. After completing official visits to Alabama, Cincinnati, Missouri and Ohio State, the 6-foot-5, 180-pound guard out of Link Academy has now taken two return trips to Alabama and Missouri unofficially.
Hannah will “most likely” return to Cincinnati and Ohio State as well, but those dates haven’t been set yet. Last time ZAGSBLOG spoke with Hannah, he said he’s planning to release a top four schools soon and will decide on a commitment date. That is still the case.
At the Mokan JUCO jamboree, Hannah broke down the schools involved:
Alabama: “It was good. I got a chance to see them play. They scrimmaged and they looked good. They play fast and everybody touched the ball over there.”
On Nate Oats’ message: “Just watch how we play pretty much. I already talked to him about how he’s going to use me there. And that was just pretty much me seeing how they play, how they use the people the people that they got there already.”
Missouri: “Continuing to build that bond. Continuing to get a feel for the school just in case I decide to go there. Like I said, just getting a feel for the school, catching the vibe of everybody and just paying attention to details, everything.”
On Missouri being four deep with Dennis Gates: “That means a lot. It shows that they’re very interested in me. They brought four coaches including the head coach, and a lot of schools are not doing that. They might come with 1-2. But that shows they’re very interested.”
Cincinnati: “They are my guys man. I knew Drew [Adams] since he was recruiting my brother. He was recruiting him while I was in middle school, so I knew who he was just because of the relationship they had built. And the relationship he built with my dad. But everybody over there is cool. I like the vibe. I like what they got going on over there. They have some special players over there and some that’s going to return. So just continue to keep building that relationship and getting down to business pretty much.”
On commit Keyshuan Tillery: “He’s nice. He’s definitely nice. He’s a dog. My first time really being like ‘yeah he’s nice’ was at CP3 camp. Like I played against him before that, but me being around him all of those days, seeing his work ethic. And just how he moves. How he thinks. How he do everything. It just shows what type of player he is.”
Ohio State: “The players are close. I like what they are building over there, the new coaching staff and all of that. But they are definitely building some good things over there. Over the years they are definitely going to get better every year.”
On Jake Diebler’s message: “He was basically saying how he has a platform for me to succeed there. If I decide to come there, it’s going to be on me, if I don’t go up the next level. Because he’s going to do everything he needs to do to get me there, but it’s going to be on me to allow him to help me get there pretty much.”
Davion’s brother, Darius Hannah, will be playing a fifth-year senior season at Bradley in 2024-25.
Hannah said all four of those schools have been in to see him pretty consistently at Link Academy. The guard enjoyed getting on the court for the first time.
“It gave a preview of how we’re going to look during the year,” Hannah said. “Of course we’re going to get way better during the year and this is the first time playing against some different competition, but we showed what we can do. We still have more to work on just defensively, offensively. Just doing what we have to do, taking care of business. But it’s definitely fun coming to be out there playing against some different people.”
