OVERLAND PARK, KS — Class of 2025 four-star John Clark is one of the highest-ranked centers in the 2025 class. The 6-foot-9, 210-pound big man out of Link Academy has taken four official visits so far in his recruitment process to Houston, Kansas, Texas and Texas A&M.

Clark, who is eyeing a November decision before the high school season gets going, broke down each trip to ZAGSBLOG:

Houston: “The visit was great. My family enjoyed it, I enjoyed it. The coaches, they laid out their presentation really well and everything was good.”

On Kelvin Sampson: “I like how he stays on you. He doesn’t leave room for mistakes or nothing like that. He’s on you, and he’s going to get the best out of you everyday in practice.”

Kansas: “Coach [Bill] Self, coach [Jeremy] Case, the whole coaching staff, they were really good to me and my family on the visit. The things that we talked about was good, the vision for me being there and stuff. It’s coach Self, you know. He’s a legend. So he’s obviously going to stay on you and you aren’t going to cut any corners. But that’s what you need for sure.”

Texas: “Coach [Rodney] Terry and his staff, they were great to me. Texas, it was good. Practice was good, watching the players compete and stuff. Coach Terry and the coaches, they are on them as well so.”

Texas A&M: “I like coach Buzz [Williams] a lot and coach [Lyle] Wolf and all of them. A&M, they play really hard. They are one of those teams that are fighting to earn their respect, and I respect that. They work real hard in practice and stuff.”

Ohio State and Oklahoma are in Clark’s top six schools, but he will not visit those programs. Kansas on Oct. 11 was his last official visit. He’ll likely decide between the four schools discussed above. Clark is a native of Houston and the Cougars are in a good spot with the talented big man.

The head coaches of Houston, Kansas, Texas and Texas A&M have all been in at Link Academy to see Clark recently, he told ZAGSBLOG. Clark had an impressive dunk and put back in Link Academy’s first preseason game against JUCO program Ellsworth. The Lions blew out Ellsworth.
