Class of 2025 four-star guard Acaden Lewis has committed to Kentucky, he told ZAGSBLOG ahead of his public announcement on Saturday.

Lewis — the 6-foot-3, 190-pound guard from Sidwell Friends School (DC) and the Team Durant Nike EYBL AAU program — had previously considered Duke and UConn. UConn was done recruiting American players, as ZAGSBLOG first reported.

“Kentucky because I see the most opportunity to play with elite talent and learn how to control elite talent,” Lewis, ranked the No. 5 point guard in the Class of 2025 per 247Sports.com, told ZAGSBLOG.

“[Coach] Mark Pope and his staff made me feel like the priority and made it a point to show why I’ll be a pro with the support and guidance they supply.”

As for his skillset, Lewis said: “I’ll be bringing a flashy but effective play style that is exciting. I’ll continually make plays for myself and others and make great reads.”

Said Sidwell coach Eric Singletary: “Acaden’s evolution as a player and leader has been amazing to behold. His progress comes from a tremendous work ethic that’s second to none. The way he sees the game is as productive as it is creative. His appetite for winning and leadership are the hallmarks of his future success. I couldn’t be more proud and excited to see what is next for Acaden.”

Lewis joins five-star point guard Jasper Johnson and four-star big man Malachi Moreno in Kentucky’s 2025 class. They are also involved for five-star jumbo wing Caleb Wilson, who postponed his scheduled visit to Arkansas on Friday because John Calipari’s new club played an exhibition at TCU. Jerry Wilson, Caleb’s father, told ZAGSBLOG “Cal will get his [visit].”

Lewis said he’s recruiting him to Big Blue Nation.

“If I’m not the completing piece I’d love to get Caleb Wilson to finish the class out,” Lewis said.
