Imagine if four-star class of 2025 prospects Acaden Lewis, Kiyan Anthony and Cam Ward teamed up together at the next level. It would be quite the trio. Well, it almost happened.
“Low key, like under-the radar, me Acaden Lewis and Cam Ward all went to Florida State,” Anthony said to League Ready. “That was our first visit together. So we didn’t know what to expect… I’m not even going to lie, after the visit, we were like what if we just team up right now?”
Of course, neither of the three ended up becoming a Seminole. Lewis chose Kentucky. Anthony chose to follow in his father’s footsteps at Syracuse. And Ward ended up at Michigan State with legendary coach Tom Izzo. Florida State currently has two commits in the 2025 class: three-star small forward Dwayne Wimbley Jr. out of St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) and 7-footer Nico Onyekwere. Still, for Anthony and company… “That was definitely one of the best, if not the best,” Anthony said of the October 2023 visit. “So Florida State definitely was good.” Looks like the legendary recruiter Leonard Hamilton has still got it.
