Michigan State guard Tre Holloman left a sea of red shirts shocked with a half-court buzzer beater at No. 16 Maryland.

No. 8 Michigan State dramatically defeated Maryland, 58-55, in what could be a crucial victory for Michigan State’s seeding as Selection Sunday draws near.

Tom Izzo’s squad was led by Jase Richardson, who scored 15 points and 8 rebounds, but Holloman’s heroics will dominate the headlines at least until the next time they hit the court.

Michigan is riding high late in the season with three straight wins, each one of them against ranked opponents.

They will look to maintain that momentum as they face off against No. 11 Wisconsin on Sunday.

Maryland had won four straight and 8-of-9 and will next visit Penn State on Saturday.
