Regardless of how many may feel about NIL and how it has impacted college sports and amateur sports as a whole, the undeniable fact is that it is here to stay and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
Vivid Seats is partnering with FOX Sports and AEG to host the College Basketball Crown (CBC), a postseason college basketball tournament in Las Vegas featuring 16 teams from conferences including the Big Ten, Big 12 and BIG EAST with a prize pool of $500,000 in NIL deals.
The championship team will win a $300,000 NIL package while the runner-up wins $100,000 and the Semifinalists win $50,000.
“This initiative represents an innovative shift in college basketball’s postseason landscape,” Executive Vice President at FOX Sports Jordan Bazant said. “It not only enhances competition, but also underscores our commitment to supporting student-athletes by unlocking new commercial opportunities.”
The inaugural tournament will take place from March 31-April 6 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and T-Mobile Arena and will be broadcast on Fox and FS1.
