It’s been a busy morning for Kim English and Providence as they made a pair of significant moves Friday.

Vanderbilt transfer Jason Edwards announced his commitment to the Friars on Friday. Edwards was one of the top scorers in the SEC this season and will make a big impact in the BIG EAST. The 6-foot-1 junior averaged 17 points per game in his junior year.

Before Edwards’ commitment, the Friars also landed an overseas prospect. Estonian wing Stefan Vaaks also announced his commitment to Providence on Friday. The 6-foot-6 guard averaged 15 points in the Eurocup while shooting 38% from long distance.

Providence struggled in the BIG EAST this year, finishing with a 6-14 conference record, tied with Butler for the third worst, but is looking to bounce back with the addition of some talented scorers.
