Kansas has picked up its second transfer portal acquisition.
Illinois transfer Tre White is headed to the Jayhawks next season. The school announced his signing on Monday.
“We are so happy we signed Tre,” Kansas head coach Bill Self said. “We’ve known him a long time and it’s come full circle since he committed to us as a high school freshman. He’s got good size at 6’7” and can play multiple spots, like a Swiss Army knife. We feel he’s an immediate major contributor, a playmaker, and with his size can guard one through four.”
The 6-foot-7 guard averaged 10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in his junior year. His collegiate career began at USC followed by transferring to Louisville in his sophomore season before arriving at Illinois.
Kansas will be his fourth team in four years as he joins Bill Self and a promising roster next season. Kansas also signed Loyola-Chicago transfer Jayden Dawson on Friday to play alongside a strong recruiting class headlined by No. 2 prospect Darryn Peterson, a projected No. 1 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
