Former San Diego State guard Nick Boyd, a top-50 transfer portal prospect, has committed to Greg Gard and Wisconsin.

Boyd — the 6-foot-3, 175-pound guard from Garnerville (NY) — averaged 13.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists for San Diego State in 2024-25. He was awarded All-Mountain West Second Team honors for his play.

The guard was one of the best available shooters in the transfer portal. He’s shot 37% from deep on 481 attempts throughout his four-year career. Boyd was at Florida Atlantic for three years before transferring to San Diego State last season. He will be using his last season of eligibility at Wisconsin.

Boyd ranks as the No. 49 overall transfer on 247Sports and No. 26 on Evan Miya. He’s the third portal addition for the Badgers this offseason. He’ll also join a couple 2025 prospects — Zach Kinziger and Will Garlock.
