Former Monmouth guard Abdi Bashir — the No. 49 overall player in the transfer portal — has committed to Jerome Tang and Kansas State, per his Instagram page.

Bashir — the 6-foot-7, 160-pound guard from Omaha — averaged 20.1 points per game last season, tied for 15th nationally. The guard added 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 37.7% from the field. Bashir does most of his damage from deep, making 178-of-463 (38.4%) of his triples in his two-year career at Monmouth.

This is Kansas State’s first portal pickup since its season ended. The Wildcats also added Memphis transfer Tyreek Smith mid-season. He didn’t suit up in 2024-25. Kansas State recently added two class of 2025 commits in Ashton Magee and Exavier Wilson.
